Whilst raising a family, her career took a different path within education. ‘My work is essentially portrait inspired, and I explore both 2d and 3d interpretations using traditional oils on canvas or sculpting in clay. Recently in ceramics, I have been experimenting with 2d drawing techniques over 3d form. I have always had a fascination with faces as they reveal individual personality, a wealth of emotions and lived experience. I strive to capture these qualities in my work. I often add an element of humour because we
can all relate to that can’t we?
Painting and ceramics have been my consistent passion, but my art has taken many forms over the years. I have never really liked to be pigeonholed in any one area because different mediums allow me to pursue my creativity in exciting ways.’
