Southport Contemporary Arts
Southport Contemporary Arts (SCA) network began in 2009 and was set up to embrace the fact that Southport is home to a host of different art practitioners working in various disciplines.
The list of creative skills within SCA is wide-ranging, and includes painters, textile artists, filmmakers, photographers, printmakers, sculptors, jewellers, musicians, poets and performance-based artists.
We have a base at ArtHouse, 65 Eastbank Street in Southport. Here we have a gallery and studios which are let out to resident artists.
SCA also has teaching space and a pottery at 111b Eastbank Street, PR8 1DG (at the rear of Southport Carpets) which is further up Eastbank Street.
ClayWorks on the ground floor currently has 50 plus ceramicists using it and we hope to see that grow as the community of users and tutors expands.
Above ClayWorks is ArtsLoft. This space is used for knitting and crochet, textiles (including printing), life drawing, oil painting groups, mixed art classes, printing, an autistic friendly group, felting, young creatives group, portraiture/life drawing and social functions.

Each year we actively work with other organisations in order to create a wider and more diverse offer.
This is usually activity or event specific and enables both ourselves and other parties involved, to widen the reach of the activities.
